Our mic holders don’t work with most Kenwood and Rugged Radio mics out-of-the-box.
Those mics have a metal plate on the back and have the “button” hook surrounded by four metal springs that make the fit between the mic and the holder super tight. So tight in-fact, that the mic will break the mount when trying to unhook it.
As a result, those springs must be either pushed back very hard, until they sit perfectly flushed with the back of the mic, or broken off and removed. This hack is easy to do, but it’s the customer’s choice.
Note that this only applies to the mics, and not to handheld radios.
